In walking distance to the State Library of Queensland

Brisbane accommodation is plentiful via Airbnb and Booking.com on either side of the Brisbane River (South Bank or CBD). Another useful website to find all types of accommodation is Trip Advisor.

 

It is advised to book ahead to avoid disappointment and ensure available transport or walking distance to the State Library of Queensland.

Getting Around

Parking

State Library of Queensland Parking

Parking is available under the State Library and the Queensland Art Gallery, accessible via Stanley Place.

  • Flat fee of $17.60 per entry, per day. 

  • Open Saturday and Sunday 7am to midnight.

  • Current roadworks may cause minor delays in travel times, and we suggest you plan ahead and leave a little extra time to get to State Library.  Read more about changed access to State Library.

SW1 24-Hour Cark Park

32 Cordelia Street, South Brisbane (3 min walk)
Entry via Cordelia or Merivale Streets into Grenier or George Croft Lanes.

  • Enter after 5:00am, exit before 5:00am next day

  • Online fee: $20 plus booking, or $27 drive up fee

Ferry

Brisbane Ferry Services

  • The KittyCats have seven stops between North Quay and Sydney Street, New Farm. Services run every 30 minutes between 5.30am and midnight, Sunday to Thursday, with services operating later Friday and Saturday nights. 

  • The South Bank terminal is a 10 minute walk to the State Library of Queensland.

e-Bikes & e-Scooters

Exploring the Cultural Precinct and surrounds by e-bike or e-scooter is also a great way to get to the State Library of Queensland if your staying a little further than walking distance.​

Free City Centre Bus Loops

The South Brisbane free city bus loop travel in an anti-clockwise direction along Grey Street, Montague Road, Vulture Street and Tribune Street. The service operates every 10-15 minutes, seven days a week between 10am and 11pm (including public holidays).

The stop at Stanley Street, Gallery of Modern Art is also outside the State Library of Queensland. More info at:

Bus & Train Services

Airtrain services run every 15 minutes from Brisbane Domestic and International Airports. The South Brisbane Station is a 6-minute walk to the State Library of Queensland. Visit Airtrain for ticketing and timetable information.
